Review by hotel critic
During my recent trip to Crete, I had the pleasure of staying in a spacious apartment located in the lovely suburb of Kalamaki, Chania. The accommodation struck a nice balance between traditional charm and modern amenities. The two-bedroom setup was perfect for our family, featuring comfortable bedding and a well-equipped kitchen. I was particularly appreciative of the air conditioning, as it made the warm summer evenings much more enjoyable. The location was another highlight; only a five-minute stroll to the beach and surrounded by local restaurants and grocery stores. Feeling adventurous? Regular buses make it easy to explore further, or you could opt for a reasonably priced taxi into central Chania. Breakfast in the outdoor garden area was tranquil, and I must tip my hat to Dimitri at reception, who offered spot-on recommendations for dining and local spots to visit. It’s clear that this area of Crete holds some hidden gems, and I can certainly see why it would be worth revisiting.
